The Village & Surroundings

‘To say that Newton Village, a hamlet in size if not in name, is pretty would not do it justice.’

Classed as a conservation area Newton is a place of ‘special architectural and historical significance’ from March through to autumn Aubretia with its little purple flowers grows on nearly every wall within the village providing a delightful backdrop to the comings and goings of country life in the North East. As well as being close to Hadrian’s Wall the village boasts an exceptional 5 star rated traditional English Inn serving Rosette awarded food along with breathtaking views, a church and a village hall, that runs yoga and pilates classes. A farm shop and cafe are within a miles’ distance and the historic town of Corbridge with many shops, cafes and pubs is within 3 miles. Although it is situated on the edge on Northumberland National Park Newton is easily accessible and only a 20 minute drive from Newcastle upon Tyne.
